Every week it seems like I have some exciting news to tell you! Well, this week I’m putting the final touches on my blog. I’m in love with my new banner!Â
When you see the new banner you’ll see the face of my favorite model in the whole world! What can I say about her? She’s five feet nine 1/2 inches of total perfection and class. She’s a brilliant A + student in one of the most academically difficult and oldest schools in the country.  She’s got great taste in movies and music and has a remarkably good grasp on both pop culture and world history. She can sing like an angel when you catch her without her knowing you’re listening. She’s creative and artistic while keeping a solid head on her shoulders. She’s not the most athletic girl in the world, but she is patient and kind and so gifted in so many other ways. She loves her parents, her family, her friends and her church. She is also remarkable because she has one blue eye and one blue and brown eye. This model has the softest, most healthy hair. She is beautiful. She is confident. She is true to herself. She is always there for me and is my pride and joy. …Can you guess who my model is?Â

My beautiful daughter! (Look at the banner above.) I do love her so.Â
Moments like the one I captured for my banner are what drive me in my photography. Capturing who my clients really are is my goal. Sometimes they are happy. Sometimes they are thoughtful and quiet. I think I portrayed who my daughter is 100% in this photo. I think I caught her perfectly!

Forget New Orleans! Mobile is where Mardi Gras was born.
Being a good Southern girl from the Gulf Coast, the Mardi Gras Season is second only to Christmas! Well, today is Fat Tuesday and I’m feeling rather homesick. I miss going to the Balls where I’m constantly reminded that I really cannot (and should not) dance. I miss the smell of the horses as the marshalls ride by at the beginning of each parade. I miss the screaming of “Throw me some Moon Pies, mister!” I even miss getting pelted with cheap plastic roses, plastic cups from the Order of ______ (fill in the blank) and doubloons! In fact, Rob and I keep our Mardi Gras organization memberships active so that we won’t miss out on the fun when we return.Â
Mobile and Baldwin County are where I spent my youth and I wanted to share a little bit of that with you today! So grab your beads, your prettiest formal gown {FYI- must be floor length or they won’t let you in the Ball}  and reminisce a bit with me.
…And, no, at our Mardi Gras young ladies keep their tops on. Thank you very much!
Sigh. I’ll be eating pancakes at church tonight here in VA. Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and Lent begins. At least I don’t have to give up Moon Pies! ;-)

This was my first session with my new camera and it was a treat. …But then taking pictures of these two lovely sisters made my job a lot easier, too! Dad is in the military and is serving overseas. I’m sure seeing his two favorite girls in their photos will make his day! Â

Big Change #2
 Remember me talking about big changes this year? Well, I finally got my Big Change #2 and I’m in love! My new camera is here and I’m taking it for a spin with a session this weekend! No, I didn’t switch to Nikon. I’m still a Canon girl at heart… and probably always will be! The images are so crisp on this bad boy that I can’t wait to use it on two beautiful girls in Chesapeake!! (The poor things don’t know what they’re in for.) I’ll post the results asap as I’m dying to see them myself.
