Great news!

January 29th, 2008

My doctor just emailed me the results of my latest PET/CT scan!  All is well.  Woo-hoo!  :-)  Can you tell I’m doing the happy “Buh-Bye Cancer” dance!?!  Now back to my regularly scheduled program of updating my website, putting the finishing tweaks on my new blog and answering client emails.  (All of which are only slightly less fun than a clean diagnosis!)

Tah-tah for now.

Out with the old and in with the new!

January 21st, 2008

New Year!  New fluff!  New stuff!  Stay tuned for big doings at Leslie du Mont Photography!  We’ve got some big changes in the works: upgraded equipment, brand-spanking new products, updated fresh packaging and some really hot special promotions in the works.  How exciting!  Check back soon for updates …and photos. Of course!

So, after my last Blog post showing a photo grouping over a couch, I had a request to demonstrate how to place a collection over a bed, too.  I was happy to do so using one of my favorite subjects from last year!  You may recognize D. J.’s face from local stage productions in SC including Little Orphan Annie!

 Take care and stay warm.

FYI: Size Does Matter

January 6th, 2008

During our ordering sessions, occasionally clients tell me that they aren’t sure about hanging portraits bigger than an an 8 x 10 or 11 x 14 in their house. “11 x 14s are just so big! Why would I need anything bigger on my walls?” I think that giving examples of exactly how your prints will look in groupings in a real house will help you make realistic purchasing decisions.

The photo below is of a typical sofa in a typical living room. Go ahead and look down there. It shows two 16 x 20s grouped with a 30 x 40. (Yes, I said a 30 x 40.) Notice how the smaller two prints frame the larger print? And how overall the collection gives a much more custom and together look? Do you see how the collection complements the size of the sofa? Can you imagine just putting one 11 x 14 on the wall now? Nope. I didn’t think so! ;-) See? Size does matter!

Take care.

Leslie
